Thanks for your comments. And yes, indeed it was a pickle juice drinking contest! There was also a pickle eating contest and a pickle throwing contest. : ) So those images of people throwing something? Those were pickle slices thrown into the mouths of their partners. The team with the most pickle chips won a prize.
I think the website should get updated a little better and possibly having one one of the winners of that year do a picle drinking or throwing contest…. but I look forward to the pickle festival every year!
